Avid4 hire domestic and international staff creating an environment fostering professional growth and cultural exchange between staff, parents and campers.

We recognize that our staff come from diverse backgrounds and that this enriches our camps with unique perspectives and experiences. Our diverse team helps our campers develop a broader understanding of the world and instills values of respect and inclusion from an early age.

Creating an environment where every staff member feels valued and respected is essential to our mission.

Our culture of inclusion starts with our hiring process where candidates demographics represents our efforts to each year have a diverse team.

Staff Expectations

Primary & Secondary Roles

During the season you can be assigned for a secondary role. This mean that during programs it can be requested to staff to support different programs than they were originally hired. We appreciate and value staff’s flexibility whenever atypical situations arise that requires those changes between roles and locations.

Scheduling

Staff can expect to receive a general summer schedule early in the summer with more specific role details in a timely manner. While we aim to schedule our staff for as many hours and program groups as they wish, there are natural fluctuations in registration that may result in staff having one or more weeks of unscheduled work or weeks in which they are assigned as a substitute or on-call staff. We still provide housing and food for Overnight Camp and International Staff even on weeks where they are assigned as a substitute or on-call staff.

Substitute and On-Call Weeks

There may be one or more weeks throughout the summer where you will not be assigned to a specific program or group and will serve as a ‘floater’ or substitute instructor. During this week you may lead a variety of programs, fulfill different roles, and take on additional duties and responsibilities outside of your primary position. You may also be scheduled to be ‘on-call’ where you are expected to be available as is reasonable to substitute in the event that a staff member calls out of work.
